"You Had Me At Mascara"

One of the most common questions I am asked is.... whats the best mascara to buy?

People seem to have the biggest issue when it comes to this product.

As I said before you don’t always have to buy the most expensive products to get the best result…. And this is certainly the case when it comes to mascara.

Each brand has their key products that they are known for. These brands put extra focus on these products, sales wise etc. When it comes to mascara the drug store brand seems to trump most of the other makeup brands.

The likes of Rimmel and Maybelline really put on emphasis on their mascaras. You can clearly see this by the array of choice you are greeted with when you go to the store . They seem to be hitting the nail on the head… or the mascara on the lash, because in the makeup world these brands are renowned for their mascara . They are used by most Makeup Artist on shoots, runway , TV, basically across the board.

The Maybelline Great Lash pink and green mascara has been around for years and is still used alot in fashion. I have used this mascara regularly and loved it, but because I have long lashes it transferred onto my skin throughout the day. Maybe if you are going to try this mascara I would opt for the waterproof version (which I have yet to try ).

I like to go between both these brands as they are so reasonably priced. And because of this I tend to try a different one each time. My favorites so far are Rimmel Max Volume mascara in the pink tube or the Scandal Eyes collection.

This is not to say that the more expensive brands don’t do great mascaras – I have my favorites in those too , Lancôme being one settled comfortably at the top of my list, with Hypnos flying the flag. I am also lining up Benefit They’re Real for my next try, along with Kate Moss Argon Oil Rimmel Mascara.

My point is that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to get a great product, so why not keep your extra cash a splash on another product that needs it more.
